After owning a business and experiencing considerable success, my husband and I got caught in the financial crisis and lost everything; our business, our home, even our car. At this point, I put my B.A. in Poly Sci to use and took work as a waitress and bartender.

Unwilling to give up on a professional life, I simultaneously went back to college and obtained a degree in Energy Management. And then the energy market dropped off. And then my dog died. I can only be grateful for this series of unfortunate events, for, with nothing to lose and completely demoralized, I sat down and began to write the romance novels which had until then, existed only in my imagination.

I am happy to have found my place in life. Finally. Click here for more.

Brynn Hochman

Children’s Picture Books

I’m Brynn Hochman, the author of children’s picture rhyming  book, The Perfect Swish.  I am currently a 17 year-old high school student living with my family in Los Angeles, CA. This story was inspired by my experiences in overcoming my own fears and watching others do the same through the work of my family (since I was 8 years old) raising money and delivering thousands of wheelchairs to people all over the world.  During one trip to Vietnam, I met a little boy who was initially very fearful about being in his new wheelchair.  Up until that time, he had been carried by his family or was moved by them on a blanket or in a wheelbarrow.  I watched as the little boy was placed in what seemed to be a foreign object. He looked terrified to move.  This all changed when the boy’s older (fully mobile) brother walked up and whispered something in his little brother’s ear. The little boy’s eyes suddenly lit up and he started using all of his strength  to maneuver and move the wheelchair on his own.  It was this boy’s strength and determination and the love and support of his family and friends that made me want to write a children’s book with this universal message.  The Perfect Swish is about Rabbit,  who with his friends, Bear, Cheetah, Monkey and Kanga, learn the lessons of strength, love, friendship and overcoming one’s fears. Historical Romance – Victorian & Western

All my life, I’ve wanted to be a writer. Even as a child, my sister claims all I ever did was sit in my closet and scribble in a notebook. Now, I concede the scribbling part, but not the closet part! Why would I need to sit in my closet when I had a perfectly good desk? In any event, I won my first writing contest when I was seven, and I was hooked! I married young, and soon had three wonderful little boys running around the house, so writing took a backseat for several years as I worked a variety of jobs that I hated.

Once I started seriously pursuing a writing career, I found it was not as easy as I had expected, and I was not the prodigy I had imagined. But I joined a writer’s group, and made a ton of writing friends along the way who showed me the error of my ways and unselfishly helped me to get a little better. By the time I sold my first book in 2006, I’d already been at this for over ten years and was about ready to give up. Rejection is hard!!! But holding that first book in my hands made it all worth it! Now my sons are all grown up, and two of them have babies of their own, and being a grandma rocks! I now have all the time in the world to devote to telling the stories that just won’t let me sleep. I hope you enjoy them. Click here for more.

Tamsen Schultz is the author of the romantic suspense Windsor Series and the short story, American Kin. She’s an RWA Daphne Du Maurier Excellence in Mystery finalist and three time finalist in the Pacific Northwest Writers Association annual contest.

In addition to being a writer, she has a background in the field of international conflict resolution, has co-founded a non-profit, and currently works in corporate America. Like most lawyers, she spends a disproportionate amount of time thinking (and writing) about what it might be like to do something else.

She lives in a small rural town, not far from Napa, full of males including her husband, two teenage sons, four cats, a dog, and a gender-neutral, but well-stocked, wine rack. Click here for more.

Tim Sabados

Suspense | Thriller | Supernatural

Tim Sabados has been an emergency room nurse for over eleven years and a part time paramedic for nineteen. A native born Detroiter having interests in painting, sculpture and drawing, it was only natural that he turned to creative writing to fulfill that artistic gap formed by the excessive amount of technical writing required of him during nursing school.

His influences in fiction have come from interests in various mystical concepts and the many unusual situations presented to him during his medical career. More importantly, his writing strays from any one single genre, but instead blends them together to create a literary experience that allows a vibrant mental journey, and the ability to contemplate the multi-faceted aspects of life. Something he feels the reader will find enjoyable on top of an entertaining story.  Click here for more

Tracy Sumner

Historical Romance

Tracy’s storytelling career began when she picked up a copy of LaVyrle Spencer’s Vows on a college beach trip. A journalism degree and a thousand romance novels later, she decided to try her hand at writing a southern version of the perfect love story. With a great deal of luck and more than a bit of perseverance, she sold her first novel to Kensington Publishing.

When not writing sensual stories featuring complex characters and lush settings, Tracy can be found reading romance, snowboarding, watching college football and figuring out how she can get to 100 countries before she kicks (which is a more difficult endeavor than it used to be with her eleven-year-old son in tow). She lives in the deep south, but after spending a few years in NYC, considers herself a New Yorker at heart.

Tracy has been awarded the National Reader’s Choice, the Write Touch and the Beacon – with finalist nominations in the HOLT Medallion, Heart of Romance, Rising Stars and Reader’s Choice. Her books have been translated into German, Dutch, Portuguese and Spanish. She loves hearing from readers about why she tends to pit her hero and heroine against each other and that great novel she simply must order in five seconds on her Kindle. Click here for more.
